Course Description: Celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) with this interactive and exploratory training course to better understand storytelling and allyship at the core of including people with disabilities in the workforce. We'll discuss topics ranging from talent strategies, Employee Resource Group development, workplace accommodations, to community-based partnerships that drive initiatives toward long-term success for people with disabilities, going beyond minimum compliance. People with disabilities are often forgotten in the margins of our daily operations and community, but can often be a hidden demographic of more than 15% of your workforce. This session will explore ways to understand and build disability inclusion strategies as a natural part of workforce strategy.
Learning Objectives:
Learn about the roots and origin of Disability Employment Awareness Month and what it means to employees and workforce development efforts.
Explore system design and journey-mapping strategies to understand how to comprehend and measure performance for including people with disabilities in your workforce.
Understand where to find resources and best practices from accessibility and disability experts and partners for every stage of your ecosystem from policy to community-based development.

*You’ll earn 0.2 CEUs for this course by attending the full session and passing the final quiz with a score of 70% or higher.
*We want everyone to feel welcome and supported. If you need any ADA accommodations, just let us know — we’re happy to help. Email us at elearning@aesp.org.
